Kent State Ice Arena
The Ice Arena, built in 1970, is a family-friendly facility serving both the university community and outlying communities. The Rink measuring 200’ X 85’. Recreational skating, figure skating, ice hockey, birthday parties, and private rentals are just a few things to consider while at the Ice Arena. The Ice Arena offers a multi-purpose meeting room, skate sharpening, and a snack bar which accepts KSU Flashcards and Credit Card. The Ice Arena is home to the Kent State ACHA Hockey Teams (Division 1 and 3). It is also home to four high school teams and a youth hockey program.
Dan Kostel Recreational Center
Dan Kostel Recreational Center, located in Garfield Heights, has been serving the local ice skating and hockey communities since 1966. Similarly, recreational skating, figure skating, ice hockey, birthday parties, and private rentals are just a few things to do at the ice arena. The recreational center also includes options for summer fun including a municipal outdoor pool, as well as offering other summer sports. The ice rink includes multi-purpose meeting room, skate sharpening, and a snack bar. It is currently home to three local high school hockey teams. In 2020 it became a in effect the 2nd home for our ice hockey club, and officially became a 2nd home for our club at the beginning of our 2021-2022 hockey season.
